Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and the retail sector
With so many brands doing similar things amidst an increasingly competitive landscape, it’s your story that makes you stand out. Today’s consumers are a tough crowd. They’re not easily won over and increasingly seek out brands that align with their values. Forward Communications has worked with some of Australia’s top FMCG brands on projects as wide-ranging as regional and rural media campaigns and brand launches to story articulation workshops and sustained internal communication campaigns.
Transport and road infrastructure
Just like communication platforms, road and transport infrastructure play a crucial role in keeping us connected. Forward Communications has produced annual reports, corporate plans, case studies and internal news content for government departments around Australia.
Banking and finance
The Royal Commission’s report into Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services certainly gave the sector a shake-up. Culture has become the number one asset for those within the banking and finance sector and a vehicle to survive and thrive. Creating an engaging, respectful, ethical workplace culture is not the result of any one thing. It’s a combination of intent, process, and goodwill. As the reflector of an organisation’s culture, here’s where internal and external communicators plays a key role and the platform to share good news stories.
Education (including higher education)
Every industry has its competitors, and the education sector has more than its fair share. A carefully considered communications strategy can help you stand out from the crowd. Graduate success stories, research breakthroughs, much-needed scholarship programs and stellar teaching programs all make excellent media fodder. From early childhood to higher education, Forward Communications is here to elevate the impact your making on human development. We’ve produced national award-winning campaigns and industry-leading publications that engage and inspire.
Mining and resources
The mining and resources sector continues to be the backbone of Australia’s economy. To quote Australian historian Geoffrey Blainey, it’s “the rush that never ended”. But there’s no guarantee that the resources sector will maintain this position. If there’s one constant within this sector – it’s change. To sustain prosperity, the mining and resources sector need become increasingly innovative, agile, skilled and socially and environmentally conscious. Ever-changing government initiatives alongside the world’s shifting resource consumption trends means it’s no time to rest on laurels and in order to tell good stories, our leaders in this sector need to do good things. Forward Communications has worked extensively within the mining sector on projects as varied as internal communications change management communication campaigns and sustainability reports to case studies and human resource recruitment videos.
Environment and sustainability
There’s no Planet B. Taking care of the earth is everybody and every business’ responsibility. Whether you need case studies on the good work your organisation your organisation is doing or an entire media campaign, our team is highly experienced when it comes to communicating all things green. Talk to us about how we can elevate your campaign.
Business
From founders and franchises to fortune 500s, Forward Communications can capture your stories to build trust and reputation. According to the Edelman Trust Barometer, on erosion of trust in media, business, government and NGOs is resulting in voices of authority, including experts and CEOs, regaining credibility. Activist CEOs who stand up for issues that matter – modern slavery, gender parity and marriage equality – are gaining more credibility. It’s evidence that good news is generated by doing good things. Talk to us about how we can shine light on your good work.
Health and medicine
The great thing about being a journalist is that you don’t have to be a neurosurgeon to write about neurosurgery. But as a journalist, it’s important to ask the right questions in order to tease out the right angle to turn medical speak into words the lay person can understand. We’ve worked extensively with doctors, dentists, psychologists and vets on a range of content that engages Australian media.
Beauty, lifestyle and luxury goods
Who doesn’t love life’s luxuries? While we’ve done our fair share of big corporate work, we also love getting behind the latest innovations in beauty, lifestyle and luxury items. If you think your product is fancy and innovative and worthy of media attention, get in touch so we can assess your newsworthy potential.
Professional services, including legal, accounting and finance
The great benefit of working within professional services is that you’re most likely an expert in your field. Experts make great media spokespeople as well as being the source of valuable content. We’ve worked with lawyers, accountants, insurance and finance clients to deliver corporate communications plans and campaigns. Thought leadership is synonymous with influence, which is why an ongoing content campaign should be the lynchpin for every professional services business.

Automotive, including heavy machinery, cars and accessories
From luxury cars and 4WD accessories to radio-controlled heavy machinery used in mines, we identify the words, pictures and channels to help you connect with your customers.
Inclusion and diversity, including First People (Indigenous Australian) priorities
When it comes to raising awareness about Indigenous culture or promoting inclusion and diversity, we believe strategic communications is one of the most influential and credible ways to share your stories. Storytelling creates an emotional connection that educates and builds understanding. By regularly sharing stories through traditional and social media, it inspires other storytellers to share your message, take your view and promote your cause. We call that endorsement.
Regional and rural, including farming and agriculture
One of the most successful freelance programs Forward Communications led was running a sustained nation-wide regional and rural media program for a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) brand. The program involved interviewing farmer shareholders to develop content that was then shared through media and e-newsletters. Public relations is a very effective tool to influence rural and regional Australia as publications in those areas are very influencial within their communities. A media campaign is also a great lynchpin for broader social media campaign as content and coverage can be repurposed and reshared.
